Getting Started
- Secure a FREE 4-week trial AusCycling Membership via https://www.auscycling.org.au/membership/other/free-trial
- Once your trial membership has ended you can upgrade to an annual “race all discipline” membership via AusCycling. Membership options here https://www.auscycling.org.au/membership
- Your AusCycling Membership allows you to ride at any Club track or event within Australia
Protective Gear Requirements
- Ensure you have a bike in good working condition (does not have to be a BMX race bike)
- Full faced helmet (Mini Wheelers can wear a normal helmet)
- Gloves
- Long pants
- Long sleeve shirt
- Closed in shoes
Weekly Club Events
- Tuesday 6-7pm (Gate Practice) $5 per rider
- Friday from 5.30pm (Race Night) $10 per rider or $25 for a family
- Riders race in the age they are turning for the current year. Maitland BMX has the following categories for racing:
- Mini wheeler (2-4 years)
- 4-5 sprocket
- 6-7 sprocket
- Novice girls (8-12 years)
- Novice boys (8-12 years)
- 8-9
- 10-12
- 13-16
- 17+
- Mens open wheel
- You can attend and pay for these as you please, you are not locked into attending these every week
Coaching
- Coaching is available on a range of evenings throughout the week with our 3 coaches. See coaching tab for more details
Additional information
- Number Plates & numbers can be purchased from sign on for $30 (minimum 2, maximum 3 numbers)
- Transponders are used for children riding in 8+ categories. These are not mandatory but allow you to see timing of gate starts and lap times via the Sqorz app. This enables you to be ranked and timed against other riders, for competition purposes. Transponders are $70 and come with a 1-year subscription which can be purchased and activated from sign on
- Our club runs on volunteers. We would love your support to engage in a range of volunteering roles whilst attending club events. Please see our Facebook page for more information of how you can assist
